Our wedding is the product of lots of hopes and dreams, and of course, generous help from our Moms and Dads and sisters and brothers and cousins and closest friends. We’re excited to see you all there – we thought very seriously about who we wanted to share our day with, and it was you!

Theme:
Our wedding theme is “Jew-talian.” We have consciously tried to imbue our wedding with rituals, foods, music, and imagery that express connection to our heritage. It’s not just stuff we like – it all has meaning to us too.

Ceremony:
The wedding ceremony will be under the traditional Jewish chuppah, with modern vows. You’ll have a chance to read those vows in our ketubah, which will be on display at the reception. We’ll be off in a small room signing the ketubah even as you are arriving at the Amphitheatre and taking your seats.

Reception:

We were inspired by the beauty of Waterfire, which we visited several times when we began dating five years ago - including the momentous date at which Alex was introduced to April’s Aunt Norma and cousins Julia and Richard. Walking along the river at night to the sound of haunting music through the haze of cedar smoke and embers lent an other-worldly quality to the dates. If it doesn’t rain, we’re hoping to recapture the feeling and share it with you.
